Security matters when you use crypto. World Mobile plans include strong protections like SIM swap defense and identity insurance, but blockchain puts you in control. That means more responsibility on you.
The good news is that protecting your tokens can be simple. A few clear habits will raise your defenses, keep your WMTx safer, and give you peace of mind.
And remember: most hacks don’t happen because of advanced exploits. They happen because of simple mistakes. Take some time to review your setup now, future you will be grateful.
1. The basics of security
- Use only official World Mobile portals and apps
- Never click links from unsolicited DMs. Assume every unsolicited contact is suspicious
- Check that every contract address matches the official WMTx contract and your wallet
- Bookmark official sites and type addresses yourself instead of following links from social media or chat
For updates, rely on World Mobile’s own channels.
Scammers often impersonate team members, support staff, or ambassadors. They also clone websites and set up fake Telegram groups. Always double-check the URL before connecting your wallet.
2. Secure your wallets
WMTx exists across World Mobile Chain, Cardano, Base, Ethereum, and BNB Chain. No matter which chain you use, keep wallets safe:
- Use self-custody wallets, not exchanges
- Never share or screenshot your seed phrase. Store it offline in at least two secure places
- Hot wallets (MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Phantom) are for convenience, not safety. Use them for small amounts or daily use, never for your vault
- Use a separate wallet when connecting to new dApps. Never connect your main vault wallet to unknown sites
- Use a hardware wallet like Ledger or Trezor for large holdings. Buy directly from the manufacturer, not resellers
Club recommends the Trezor Safe 5 for securing your WMTx and other assets.
It features a larger color touchscreen for easier navigation, improved security with a hardened chip, and optional Shamir Backup to split your recovery seed into multiple parts for extra safety.
Unlike mobile or browser wallets, Trezor stores your private keys entirely offline, keeping them safe from malware, phishing, and SIM-swap attacks.

3. Use a password manager
- Passwords should be at least 16 characters, unique, and complex
- Use a password manager (1Password, Bitwarden, Dashlane) to create and store them safely
- Check if your passwords have been exposed in a data breach at haveibeenpwned.com/passwords
4. Use 2-factor authentication (2FA)
- Always enable two-factor authentication where available
- Use the strongest option: a hardware key (Yubikey) is best
- If not supported, use an authenticator app (Authy, Google Authenticator, Duo)
- Avoid SMS-based 2FA. If it’s your only option, make sure it prompts you every login
- World Mobile subscribers benefit from SwapStop to protect against SIM swaps, with built-in security and insurance
5. Stay smart
- Avoid making yourself a target. Don’t brag about your crypto holdings online
- Don’t fall for tricks. No one from World Mobile or its partners will ever ask for your password, 2FA codes, PINs, or remote access
- Be cautious of fake support chats, unsolicited calls, or requests to create “test accounts”
- If you’re unsure, stop and verify before acting
6. Diversify storage
- Keep some WMTx in a hot wallet for staking and daily use
- Store the rest in a cold wallet for long-term safety
- WMTx exists on Cardano, Base, Ethereum, and BNB. Always check you are on the right chain before sending tokens
7. Advanced security practices
- Use a separate email for wallets and exchanges. Enable 2FA on your email with an app or hardware key
- Keep your devices updated, avoid public/shared devices, and don’t install untrusted apps
- For large holdings, consider a recovery plan. Document clear instructions for heirs or use multi-sig/shared custody if appropriate
The goal isn’t perfection, it’s resilience. By following these steps, you’ll be far less likely to fall victim to the common mistakes that drain wallets every day.
Review your setup, strengthen any weak spots, and keep up good security habits. As World Mobile grows, more people will join the ecosystem, including bad actors. Keeping your tokens safe protects not just your holdings, but also your place in the future of World Mobile.
