WMTX powers World Mobile Chain (WMC) , an EVM-compatible Layer 3 built on Base . WMTX also exists on Cardano, Ethereum, and BNB Chain, so you can move it between networks.
If you hold WMTX on Cardano and want to use it on Base, the current path is two steps: bridge from Cardano to Ethereum with the SingularityNET bridge , then from Ethereum to Base with Chainlink’s Transporter . Start from World Mobile’s bridge portal for the official links, and if anything looks off, confirm in a public World Mobile channel before you proceed.

How WMTX Works Across Chains
- On Cardano, WMTX is a native asset built into the chain itself, using Cardano’s UTXO system.
- On Base, it exists as an ERC-20-style token, which works like any other Ethereum-compatible asset.
- On Ethereum and BNB Chain, WMTX also follows the ERC-20 standard and behaves the same way it does on Base.
These versions don’t talk to each other directly, so if you want to move WMTX between chains, you’ll need to use a bridge.
1. What you need before you start
- A Cardano wallet with WMTx (for example Eternl or Lace), plus a small amount of ADA to cover fees.
- An EVM wallet such as MetaMask with the Base network added.
- ETH on Ethereum for approvals and gas (a few dollars’ worth is usually enough).
- Time: most conversions take 10–30 minutes.
Note: Always use a self-custodial wallet. Bridges and swaps often fail with exchange wallets or vault contracts, and refunds are very difficult.

2. Choose how you want to move WMTx to Base
There is no direct Cardano → Base bridge today. Instead, you can use one of three routes:
Option A (recommended): SingularityNET → Chainlink Transporter
- Cardano → Ethereum with SingularityNET
- Ethereum → Base with Chainlink Transporter (CCIP)
You’ll need:
- Some WMTx for the SingularityNET fee
- ETH on Ethereum for gas
- ETH on Base for future use
Why choose this route: It’s the most official and transparent option, using trusted infrastructure on both steps.
Option B (alternative): SingularityNET → cross-chain swap
- Cardano → Ethereum with SingularityNET
- Ethereum → Base using a swap service that supports WMTx pairs, for example Houdini
Why choose this route: It can be quicker or cheaper depending on liquidity.
Trade-off: You rely on a third-party aggregator. Only use if you’re comfortable with swap platforms.
Option C (exchange route): Cardano → Kraken → Base
- Sell WMTx for ADA in your Cardano wallet.
- Send ADA to Kraken (or another exchange that lists WMTx).
- On Kraken, buy WMTx.
- Withdraw WMTx directly to your EVM wallet address. Choose Base network for withdrawal.
Why choose this route: Simple for people already using exchanges; avoids bridge complexity.
Trade-off: Requires KYC, carries custodial risk, and adds trading + withdrawal fees. Always withdraw promptly to self-custody.
3. Confirm it worked
- Switch your wallet (e.g. MetaMask) to the Base network.
- Import WMTx if it doesn’t appear automatically.
- Check BaseScan by pasting your Base address under the Tokens tab.
- If you used Option A or B, also confirm your Ethereum claim on Etherscan.
- If you used Option C, verify that Kraken shows the withdrawal as completed and that the funds appear in your Base wallet.
4. Risks and considerations
- Start small: send a test amount first.
- Limit allowances: approve only what you need; revoke unused approvals later.
- Gas and quotes: Ethereum fees can spike — always check before signing.
- Custody: self-custody wallets are safest. Hardware wallets add another layer of security.
- Stay vigilant: never share your seed phrase, ignore unsolicited DMs, and decline signatures you don’t understand.

Converting between chains often means juggling multiple bridges, wallets, and approvals. Each step is a chance for mistakes or scams. Protect yourself with a hardware wallet.
The Trezor Safe 5 keeps your keys offline and safe, even if a bridge site or swap platform is compromised. With its larger color touchscreen, haptic feedback, and optional Shamir Backup, it makes secure approvals simple.

Final Notes
Right now, there’s no direct Cardano → Base bridge for WMTx. In the future, World Mobile or its partners may release one (Kraken maybe!). For the latest updates, go to World Mobile’s official bridge page.
