Who is Wise Lending
Wise Lending is a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform offering lending, borrowing, and yield products. Its aim is simple: give people access to yields and credit on their own terms.
Through its partnership with World Mobile, Wise links yields to real telecom operations rather than speculation. The World Mobile Vault channels deposits into network deployments, creating a direct bridge between DeFi capital and real-world infrastructure.
What they do and mission
The World Mobile Vault on Wise lets users deposit USDC, USDT, or ETH and earn a fixed yield tied to World Mobile’s rollout. Wise lists it as a fixed-rate Real World Asset (RWA) vault in its app and docs.
How it works
- Users deposit into a World Mobile Vault.
- Funds are pooled to purchase World Mobile AirNodes.
- Revenue from these nodes funds the vault’s interest.
- Depositors receive ERC-20 receipt tokens that accrue interest and can be sold or transferred.
- Principal is locked in physical infrastructure, so redemptions require selling the receipt token.
For DeFi users, it’s a way to help fund telecom expansion while earning yield from actual service revenue.
How they work with World Mobile
World Mobile brings the DePIN engine: AirNodes that create revenue as people pay for connectivity.
Wise acts as a Distribution Partner, channeling DeFi liquidity into new AirNode deployments. Rewards generated flow back to vault participants.
AirNodes in brief: They are remotely operated radio devices that provide calls and data, forming the backbone of World Mobile’s sharing-economy network.
Why it matters
For World Mobile, this model taps into the deep liquidity of DeFi to accelerate network expansion without relying solely on traditional financing.
For Wise Lending users, it offers exposure to real-world yield in a sector, telecom, that has historically been closed to individual investors.
It’s a blueprint for how DeFi can fund physical infrastructure, creating benefits for both digital and offline economies.
Design notes and risks
- Rates and terms are set by Wise’s vault design and may change. Contract addresses, caps, and admin controls are in Wise’s docs.
- Liquidity: Interest is claimable anytime, but principal is only accessible by selling the ERC-20 receipt token.
- Networks: Vaults are available on Ethereum and Arbitrum.
Anyone considering participation should review the vault documentation and on-chain contracts before depositing.
