Do we need a mobile plan to earn WMTx?

With the new mobile plans coming out, will we need an active plan to keep earning WMTx, or will earnings still be possible once the Vault reopens? Just trying to understand how this is going to work going forward.

Staking comes with several options, each offering different benefits. Here’s a clear breakdown:

  • If you don’t have a World Mobile phone plan and want to earn WMTx rewards, your options are Core Staking or EarthNode Staking.
  • If you do have a World Mobile phone plan, Premier Reward lets you earn mobile plan cashback and exclusive perks.

Ways to Stake WMTx

1. Premier Reward (Requires a Mobile Plan)

  • Available only to subscribers of World Mobile’s mobile plans.
  • Earn cashback on your mobile plan, starting at 2.5% for 100 WMTx staked, up to 15% for 250,000 WMTx.
  • Unlock VIP benefits, priority access, and ecosystem-wide rewards.
  • Membership includes six tiers, with higher rewards at each level.
  • Additional perks: discounts on AirNodes, enhanced affiliate rewards, global roaming bonuses, Scan-for-Points boosts, and more.

Ideal for active users, AirNode operators, and affiliates who want mobile perks plus token rewards.

2. Core Staking (No Mobile Plan Required)

  • A standalone staking option on the World Mobile Chain (successor to the previous Vault Staking).
  • Stake WMTx in 30-day epochs to earn rewards.
  • Offers an estimated 5% APY; actual returns vary based on network performance and total stake.
  • Does not include mobile plan benefits.

Lower risk, steady rewards, no extra perks → best for straightforward token holders.

3. EarthNode Staking (No Mobile Plan Required)

  • Delegate WMTx to an EarthNode and earn a share of the node’s rewards.
  • Offers higher potential returns than Core Staking, but depends on node uptime, performance, and operator fees.
  • Supports network validation, transaction processing, and governance participation.

Best for those who want to actively support the network while earning variable, performance-based rewards.

Summary

If you’re on a World Mobile plan, Premier Reward links your staking directly to real-world mobile usage, offering cashback and exclusive member perks.

Core Staking is live, and EarthNode Staking will become available soon with the World Mobile Chain’s delegated staking launch. Both provide ways to earn WMTx rewards by supporting network operations.

Thanks! I’m not too interested in the Premier perks to be honest. I’ll just stick with staking WMTx in the vault directly once it’s back up.
